Re: TS VS TS2
Hi,
Your answer is in the User guide, under Terminal Session and look at the Guide called Differences Between Basic and Advanced Terminal Emulation
But to answer the question in a nutshell, see below.
The latest version of aXes 310 makes all development and end user functionality available in TS2.
Every customer using aXes should be using TS2 as their development and runtime environment, unless they require the use of arcane 5250 function on their web browser, in which case they should use TS.
The issue we sometime see is that while people want to be modern and use aXes-TS2, they get hung up on also supporting some arcane 5250 feature.
So we are clearly delineating: – are you really doing 5250 terminal emulation? – or are you modernizing?
If you are doing 5250 emulation, you should use TS.
If you want to do modernisation, you should use TS2. And you should be prepared to leave some 5250 baggage in the past.

Re: TS VS TS2
So I am new to aXes. I am going through the eXtensions tutorial. Sometimes the manual says Work as TS2 developer, other times it says Work as a Developer (Tutorial 3, Adding a stripe) for 1 instance. so do I ALWAYS work as a TS2 developer, or do I follow the tutorial?

Re: TS VS TS2
Hi Wayne,
Sorry about the confusion. This will be rectified.
Please always use "Work as a TS2 developer" in the tutorials 1,2,3.
