Drop down Box in column 78

So I have a selection field in column 78 of my AS/400 display. How do I get this to work? When it drops down the information is too far to the right to be seen, and it gets cut off.

Hi Wayne,
How long in the information in your drop down?
Is it possible to move it back a little?
If you cannot move it back, can you resize the drop down to be smaller and change the font to a smaller font?

So there's no way to get the drop box selection to be on the left of the box? The information in the drop box is 1 character, the options are up to 10. really don't want to downsize the font.
Why does the input box look like a pill? A user would not even know that is a drop down box. It should also show what was typed in, but does not.
