The error looks like an authorization issue.
Maybe the user profile aXes runs under was not authorized to read the certificate?

Type ahead is definitely a 5250 emulation only feature - hence only available in TS because it's the 5250 emulation version of aXes.
aXes TS2 is the web browser version - so it does not get the same set of 5250 emulation features.

You need hotfix to aXes and to RAMP to complete that tutorial.
